Miss Teen Africa Foundation is delighted to announce that it has been shortlisted for a national Awards, which recognises excellence in the UK diversity and charity sector.

The organisation was shortlisted in this year’s Community Organisation Award category, which recognises organisations empowering communities and promoting social action.

The foundation together with the Miss Teen Africa® cultural pageant uses diverse platform to support young women and empower them to lead positive lives. The organisation which is based in the UK is aiming to expand its unique pageant and transformational programmes to reach more young women in Africa facing disadvantage.

Speaking following the announcement, Yomi Adegoke, Founder and Director at Miss Teen Africa, said: “It is a massive honour to have been nominated for a national Awards. With the excellence demonstrated by charities and grass-root organisations across the UK, it is such a privilege to be nominated for the community organisation of the Year award and reflects positively on the work of all our team members, past and reigning Queens, partners, Trustees and young people who are associated with the organisation”.

“I’m also delighted for our 2016 Queen, Sangwani Harawa who was nominated for Young Achievers Women 4 Africa Award for her social action campaigns and launching the GirlTalk forum with us. This show our Girls can thrive at the highest level if they are rightly mentored “.

This year’s winners will be announced at the Awards Gala Dinner & Ceremony on 14th September 2018 at the Liverpool’s Anglican Cathedral, Liverpool.  The event was attended by over six hundred guests in 2017 and this year is set to be bigger and better than ever.
