Leyla Shongwe is the reigning Miss Teen Africa from South Africa. She aspires to be a lawyer and strongly believes in women’s empowerment. Her duty as Queen and an ambassador for the Miss Teen Africa Foundation is to participate in vital and uplifting events, such as speeches and campaigns. Leyla believes in girls helping girls and will utilise her platform to raise awareness about issues impacting young women, plan a benefit event for girls, and promote social and ethnic cohesion among indigenes of African descent across Africa.
The Queens 2026 Mandate: To improve and encourage recylcing for sustainable development and to promote self-esteem, self-empowerment and continued education and growth of young women in African communities.
