Miss Teen Africa Foundation CIC is proud to announce “Heritage Queens: Celebrating African & Caribbean Queens in History & Today”, a vibrant one-day celebration and empowerment event taking place in October as part of Black History Month 2026.

The event will bring together teenage girls of African and Caribbean heritage, their families, and local residents for an inspiring day of education, creativity, and community connection. Participants will explore the powerful legacies of historical African queens such as Nzinga of Ndongo and Yaa Asantewaa, alongside Caribbean heroines and modern-day role models through interactive talks and storytelling sessions.

Young attendees will take part in creative workshops including spoken word poetry, heritage storytelling, and designing personal “Heritage Crowns”. The day will culminate in a celebratory showcase where the girls present their work, perform, and receive certificates of achievement, followed by light refreshments and networking.

Founder/Director Yomi Adegoke, Miss Teen Africa Foundation CIC, said:
“We are delighted to host ‘Heritage Queens’ during Black History Month. This event empowers young Black girls by connecting them with their rich cultural heritage, building confidence, and celebrating the extraordinary contributions of African and Caribbean women throughout history and today. We warmly invite families and the wider community to join us in this uplifting celebration of identity and excellence.”
