Calling all new emerging spoken word poets to get involved. The Miss Teen Africa foundation Poetry Collective program is here. The brand new initiative is developed with the aim to encourage the reading and writing of poetry amongst young women of African heritage have been receiving.

“We are excited about this new initiative,” said MTA Director Yomi Adegoke. “The idea was originally inspired by Queen Elizabeth’s “message of hope” speech during the global pandemic and so we decided to twist it to promote poetry. We will hope this initiative will continue to help more young women to polish their creative talent, stimulates their imagination and use the power of spoken word to impact positive changes in their communities.

Poetry Collective will aim to publish and exhibit a selected collection of poems annually at the Miss Teen Africa Pageants world finals and prospective poet can get involved by entering a bimonthly online Poetry competition. Selected winners will also have the opportunity to win cash prizes, *Book vouchers and a certificate of achievement.
